Michèle Colburn

Native Washingtonian, Michèle Colburn joined AAC’s resident artists in 2014. Her work is socio-political in nature, and often explores themes of violence inside and outside America’s borders.

With a keen interest in materiality, her works have been exhibited locally and nationally in Boston, Denver, Philadelphia, New York, and Los Angeles, with three solo shows in Washington, DC. Colburn earned her BA, in Art History from Franklin and Marshall College, a Graduate Teaching Certification in Education, and an MFA from American University. She continues her art teaching in the DMV.
