Artist-Led Analog Night: Screen Printing, Patching & Embroidery with Aaron Tran
Join us in screen printing with painter and upcycle artist Aaron Tran of TANK Studio! Aaron will have custom screens ready, featuring an exclusive “I ♡ ART” design. T-shirts and tote bags will be provided by MoCA on a first-come, first-served basis (limited quantities available). Scrap fabric and sewing materials will also be on hand to patch or add embroidery embellishments to your bag or shirt into an upcycled work of its own!
Feel free to bring your own tote bag, t-shirt, hoodie, or fabric item to print on and stitch. Used, vintage, or thrifted items are fine and highly encouraged! Step into the studio, learn the basics of screen printing, do a little upcycling, and bring home your very own custom merch.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to register to attend?
While the registration is free, space and materials (provided t-shirts, tote bags, and sewing tools) are limited. We highly recommend reserving your ticket ahead of time to guarantee participation and help us estimate headcount! - Where can I park?
Street parking is available for a fee, and garage parking is FREE for up to 3 hours after 4:00pm. We recommend entering the garage from 13th Street South. - Do I need to bring my own t-shirt or tote bag?
We’ll be providing a limited supply of complimentary t-shirts and tote bags on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your own plain, thrifted, or upcycled items to personalize them to your liking! - What kind of fabric works best for screen printing?
Smooth, 100% cotton or cotton-blend fabrics work best (think tees, tote bags, canvas patches, or hoodies). Try to avoid textured fabrics like fleece or heavily ribbed knights for the cleanest print! - Is screen printing ink permanent?
Yes, the fabric ink cures to become permanent and machine-washable! Because of this, be sure to wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting little paint on, just in case. - Is this event beginner-friendly?
Absolutely! No prior screen printing or patchwork experience is needed. Aaron Tran and MoCA Staff will be on-site guiding everyone through each step of the process!
