Visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington is a memorable learning experience for groups of all ages. MoCA Arlington offers a comprehensive field trip program, which caters to K-12 students and community groups. Groups will be guided through our contemporary art galleries and participate in a hands-on art workshop inspired by our current exhibitions on view.

GALLERY TOURS

Gallery tours include an overview of select current exhibitions and a discussion of the artist’s materials and process. One of MoCA Arlington’s teaching artists will lead your group through the galleries, allowing for participants to ask questions and explore the current works on show. Through observation and group discussion, gallery tours encourage students to develop critical thinking skills and visual literacy while sparking interest in the local artist community and the world around them.

STUDIO WORKSHOP

Hands-on workshops are led by professional teaching artists. These workshops incorporate themes and methods inspired by the current exhibition on view. Workshops encourage students to experiment with new materials and ways of creating by exploring the exhibitions and thinking about art-making methods. Exhibitions at MoCA Arlington rotate each season, offering new experiences for students and community groups throughout the year. Workshops in our classrooms are focused on various art media and are accessible for students of all age groups.
