IN-PERSON CLASS / Tuesdays / 6:30-8:30pm / April 19 - June 7

Intuitive Painting Exploration

Whether you have an established creative practice or enjoy occasional creative projects, chances are you’ve felt stuck, in the weeds, or unsure of where to begin. Intuitive Painting Exploration is all about discovery, experimentation, and embracing imperfection! Classes will begin with expressive, open-ended exercises that become ‘starting points’ for more resolved finished artwork. Additionally, students will be introduced to contemporary artists whose work will contextualize and inspire our own exploration and discovery. Students will use a range of painting and drawing mediums as we test the limit of our materials and what we think we know about them. This will be a relaxed and open learning environment that welcomes students of all experiences and backgrounds.

Clarissa Pezone: The Woods of No Name

March 30 - May 26, 2024

In Clarissa Pezone’s figurative installations, the artist utilizes the qualities of clay to evoke the uncanny in otherworldly and unsettling scenes. For The Woods of No Name, Pezone has created a new installation that explores the concept of limbo–what the artist describes as “the mystic space that exists between reality and the unknown.”
